MYOPIA @ Thursday, January 27, 2011
Myopia (meaning short sighted). Last Friday, Richelle came home from school, told us that nurse say need to go for eyes check up. In my heart, my greatest fear has arrival! Hubb family member have bad history with high myopia (above 600 degree). Hubby is 800-1000 degree!!! And Myopia can be inherited. Actually, we are quite concern about this. Hubby would just raise his voice if Richelle sit too near to TV, Reading book without light or playing games for too long. And on my part, I try to give her more vitamins for the eyes! Whatever we have done, gone wasted! Richelle is still detected with myopia. My heart sink!
So I pop a question back to Richelle: Which row u can’t see?
Richelle: I think the last 3rd row
Mummy: WHAT!!!????
Sat, I quickly bring Richelle to Optical shop to double confirm again! When the optician asks Richelle to read those letters on screen projector, I nearly wanted to cry! To me those words were so clear and big and I never expect Richelle myopia can be so serious! She can’t pronounce any 1 of them.
Result: 175 degree on each eye! My hearts totally die off! How can it be? Every year she did an eye check. Nothing usually last year, how comes suddenly can shoot up to 175? She never complaint anything about she can’t see.
Furthermore, visual is not stabilizing at this age, will only stable around secondary time. OMG! Primary 2 already 175, what to expect when Richelle is Primary 6? Going to be the same as the daddy?
What can I do to control the myopia? Until now I still cannot accept the fact!
I seriously thinking of buying 1 of this. But it is damn Expensive, I hear it is around $600-$700.Hehehe suddenly I remember this quote from those people Q-ing for Nanyang Pre School. " YOU CAN CALL ME KAISU, I DUN CARE! IS MY CHILD FUTURE (EYES)!Kekeke!!!!
How effective is Eye Relax??? (Information from Website)
Based on the latest research on visual neurological science, EyeRelax is very easy to use and effective. Just 5 minutes per eye treatment is all you need. Yes, just 5 minutes. All you need to do is to focus into the device, where EyeRelax patented biospectrum, clinically programmed to relieve visual fatigue, helps improve our eyesight for both myopia and presbyopia. When our eyes function better, its just natural that it will see better.
For low myopes of less than 300 degrees, there is a good chance to regain good vision if used early. Children with low myopia are strongly encouraged to use EyeRelax early, as they would have a high possibility to regain good vision.
For medium myopes of between 300 and 600 degrees, EyeRelax helps to improve eyesight and prevents it from worsening. No more thicker and thicker glasses every few months.
For those with myopia of 600 degrees and above, one should use EyeRelax immediately to improve eyesight, and also avoid eye-blinding diseases. And generally, this group of myopes finds EyeRelax very comfortable to their eyes.

RICHELLE’S BALLET @ Monday, January 24, 2011
Haiz..Sometimes I feel like I am a PA (personal assistance) to Richelle! Arrange all her schedule for enrichment, tuition together with driver time (My hubby). What a life!!!
Last month, Ri schedule was totally in a mess due to her Ballet (in school) change it timing. Gosh, crash here and there! Initially we tot of asking RI to give up her ballet, but somehow we feel abit wasted. Hubb suggested going back to previous Dance studio to continue from there. No choice, more expensive. Last 2 Sunday, went for the 1st trial lesson. I and hubb was not very happy with the teacher. We decided to change timing in order to have different teacher (back to RI previous ballet teacher). We all like her, I did not choose the timing because timing crash with Ri enrichment. Heng ar! Luckily I manage to change Richelle enrichment to a later timing! Yesterday, 1st lesson with previous dance teacher. Overalls teacher was happy with Ri. Another heart attack session, in order to join or blend into the group, Ri must able to do most of the things and step. If Ri cant blend into the group, she probably need to start her grade 1 all over again, which I think is a waste of time and $. Of cos to those teachers don’t think like this, cos they emphasize on foundation!
***RI grade 1 is from Australia/ Dance School is from UK. Dance steps tend to be slightly different.
Now I can put my heart down. Everything settle!
Bought her new pair of Dance shoes! Cost $43.00!!!!

RICHELLE IS A SENSITIVE KID @ Sunday, January 23, 2011
Ri is a super sensitive child, so extremely sensitive which sometimes drives me and hubb to depression. Every word we say could become a criticism to her ear. She would be hurt by harmless gestures and any sort of unfairness, comment or even a discussion. Demand for answer or reasoning why she is being turn down or why not? I can’t even give answer like NO! She would ask you WHY, Until either you give her a good reasoning or you give her a good scolding.
Especially me, I can’t even comment anything negative on her schoolwork, piano or ballet! She would just burst into tear for nothing. When she was young around 4-6, I always forgive her and telling myself she is still younger maybe older will be better. I was defiantly wrong, now Primary 2 She is still behaving like this. Seriously for those who know me very well, me and hubby never spoil her at all even she is small. We are actually quite strict toward her. (Too spoil or too stress)?
Incident 1: RI : Mummy that is a girl Primary 2, is doing her Ballet grade 3 or 4 Mummy : Wow! She must be good in her ballet, Issit? RI : Burst in tear, Why U never says I good?
Incident 2: RI : Mummy How my playing (Piano) Mummy : No good RI : Burst in tear, every time also no good! I practice till I good la. Mummy : :S Did I say anything harsh?
Too many crying incident! I can’t list all of them.
Never share foods or cutlery with others, as she thinks saliva is dirty. Something this gesture can make Mummy very embarrasses in front of her friends.
Incident 1: Dinner with friends, accidentally I think Baby Caitlin put RI cutlery into her mouth. Richelle just refuse to use that set anymore or she will demand for tissues to clean the cutlery. How possible for a kids to think like this?
From age of 2 or 3, until now I need to cut off most of the labels from her clothes before she would wear them. She say is very itchy. And Every morning, you just need to wait for her at least 5min to adjust the sock seams, she say is very uncomfortable..
Indeed troublesome and sensitive child I have!!! HELP! Even now, she is not changing,
To most of the parents would probably be thinking, she is just a crying baby, too spoil or even over demanding. But I read up some book, it say maybe the kids is over sensitivities. And parent should adjust themselves to this type of kids. Well, seriously I dun know where Richelle is standing. Everyday cry for nothing!!!

GERONIMO STILTON @ Monday, January 17, 2011
Princess was addicted to this Geronimo Stilton series of story book! 1 Book cost ard $10.00. Every time went to JP popular sure to get 1 of this. **Mummy will be broke sooner or later**Hmmm.. personally I like it as well, Cos slightly diffcult word will be enlarge, highlighted in colour or bold. For story wise, I am not so sure, mummy haven got time to read story book. As for difficulties, personally I found it quite easy for Richelle. As she can read most of the words with understanding. I think I need to chose more difficult 1 for her, if not will never improve, keep on going with current level. Another thing is did Richelle's really read with understanding or just read without knowing what is the story about ler? Well, I also duuno, better not to know!
